The Welsh Rivers.
The complete guidebook to canoeing and kayaking the rivers of Wales (1998)
The Welsh Rivers is the first canoeing and kayaking guide to
comprehensively cover the rivers of Wales. Nearly, if not all, the rivers of the
Principalty are covered, mostly from navigable source to sea or confluence.
All types of water are included from lazy gentle tours suitable for families and lovers
alike, to the raging torrents sought by the expert. There are nearly 200 rivers and over
2500 kilometres of water to be tackled.
The river descriptions start with a simple introduction, followed by a
more detailed section. All rivers are shown on easy-to-read sketch maps and the book is
lavishly illustrated with quality photographs. An eclectic mix of anecdotes from various
sources offers insight into the paddling scene in Wales but the best ones are, with the
help of this book, left for the reader to discover.
